We had a wonderful stay at Alex and David’s cottage. The view from the garden was just beautiful and there were so many thoughtfully considered details to make our stay comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast on the verandah, bird watching in the garden and sitting around the cosy fireplace in the evening. Kitchen was very well stocked with all the essentials plus some. A home away from home. Really lovely welcoming hosts who were on hand if needed and had great tips for the area.

You can’t ever be disappointed with a stay at Allview Escapes . I came back ( after 18 years ) and fell more in love with this beautiful location and authentic accomodation. The owners love their property and it shows . The cottage was beyond cute and a sunrise morning cup of tea from the egg chair is an experience to be cherished !

We absolutely loved our stay at SKYFarm. The house was very accessible for us with a 3 month old baby. The location was wonderful- it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, so peaceful- with incredible sunrises- but in reality was not that far from town. The view from the bath was a big draw card and it did not disappoint! The house was clean, comfortable and inviting. The sourdough bread Nicky left us from The Grumpy Baker was delicious! We will definitely be back.

We stayed for our first year wedding anniversary with our two children, we loved spending time with all the friendly animals. We didn’t need to leave the place the whole time. Such a beautiful location. Kirsty even set up a treasure hunt for our little ones ( even my husband and I enjoyed it ) We will definitely be back! 😍

Firstly, let me reveal the true secret of this Airbnb: Prue and Mathieu. They are amazing hosts, thinking of every detail. They were able to organize beautiful charcuterie board with champagne waiting for our Arrival. Beautiful birthday cake and inhouse massages next day. Every request was met with grace and carried out with such care and attention to detail. Forever grateful for making this birthday weekend so special. The place itself is beautiful. It is so cozy and so warm. Feels like home right away. The fireplaces outside and inside added extra fun. The bath outside alongside fire pit in the evening was super relaxing . And lastly the pizza oven! What a fun activity !!! I cannot recommend this place enough. The real question we currently have is how quickly can we come back. Stay here ! You will not regret it.

The moment you step inside Kookawood you can see it's a labour of love. Hand built by the host and her husband and then lovingly curated (over what must have been years) both inside and out, to create an otherwordly escape that's equal parts French countryside, retro Australiana, whimsical bohemia and Vogue Living. Everywhere you look there's another beautiful item or another fabulous spot to curl up with a book or sit and soak in the view. It's difficult to pull off such maximalist decor well but this is just exquisite, somehow managing to be both super stylish and incredibly comfortable and welcoming. The outdoor bath, friendly fox, open fireplace and fabulous views from every window were particular highlights. Meanwhile the kitchen is amply stocked and the beds were super comfy. Tens across the board! On a practical note, we have a fairly low-slung sports sedan and we found it handled the driveway absolutely fine, provided you pay attention.

2nd time staying always amazing beautiful and super relaxing

We were two families which included 4 kids, all under 10 years of age came for the long weekend, driving down from Sydney. I was initially doubtful if the hideout on the hill would be ideal for families with small kids. But it all changed when we drew up the hil...! What a stunning place! A rustic feel but amazingly cozy! Remote but close to everything! Alone but surrounded by a lot of animal life. We could listen to the cows and sheep from the next hill. Sitting outside every night was bliss, gazing at the stars…. spotting Venus, Mars, and Jupiter… The house itself was lovely, the fairy lights in each room made it feel special. The small bridge with a clear stream flowing beneath all adds up to the beauty. Driving past the orchard, the steep ascent on a rocky gravel path was fun. The kids loved the adventure, walking down to the bridge and sprawling the grasslands that surround them. I am sure, we will be back again in winter. Thanks, Janene for being such a wonderful host.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tansy Cottage which has been beautifully renovated whilst still retaining it's original character. The location was good and only a couple of minutes drive to Blackheath village shops, major walking tracks and tourist sites. The cottage was very comfortable and toasty warm with the underfloor heating coming in handy when the weather turned cool and wet. It was easy to sit back and relax. A nice touch with a welcoming bottle of wine and a good selection of teas and coffee provided. Jack and Vanessa provided a good instruction book and locals guide of things to do. I'd certainly recommend Tansy Cottage as a place to stay in the mountains.
